Gor Mahia Appoint Croatian Coach Sinisa Mihic on Six-Month Contract

Perennial Kenyan Premier League champions Gor Mahia have named Croatian tactician Sinisa Mihic as their new head coach on a six-month probationary contract.

The 48-year-old will be expected to prove his worth within the trial period, after which the club will decide whether to extend his stay. Mihic takes over from Zedekiah ‘Zico’ Otieno, who had been handling the team in an interim capacity following the exit of Brazilian coach Leonardo Neiva.

Despite previously insisting that Otieno would remain in charge, Gor Mahia opted for foreign expertise, a move that marks a shift in the club’s coaching strategy. Mihic will, however, be supported by Otieno, a club legend, and Michael Nam, ensuring continuity in the technical bench.

Gor Mahia are currently third in the league standings with 31 points after 18 matches, trailing leaders Police FC by six points as they fight to retain their league title.

Mihic’s immediate task will be to steady K’Ogalo’s campaign and reignite their championship charge. The coming months will determine whether he secures a long-term future at the club.
